Types of Licenses
There are two types of licenses used on this site: a Personal Use License which permits you to make a limited number of copies for personal purposes, and a Creative Commons Attribution License which permits both copying and remixing. The type of license is identified in the Copyright Notice which appears at the bottom of each music score.
Personal Use License
Unless a music score on this site specifically states that it is licensed under the Creative Commons licensing scheme, it is covered under a Personal Use License. Under the terms of this license, you may make copies of the music for your own personal use, provided that:
- You make no more than 500 copies
- You use the copies for a non-commercial purpose
- You preserve the copyright notice and properly attribute the authors

Creative Commons Attribution License
The Creative Commons Attribution License is a very permissive license that allows the music to be used for almost any purpose, including commerical. In addition to copying, this license permits "remixing" -- arranging, adapting, and adding to -- the music score.
